Baby update

Tom and I spent about forty minutes watching our child on the big screen. It was wild, amazing, beautiful, and a little creepy. I do have these moments of overwhelming love for this child and stand in awe that Tom and I are blessed with this experience. There are also times, especially now when I feel baby moving, that I get creeped out. My body is no longer mine, it's a portal for a new life, how freaky is that!!??

Baby is ten ounces now and there were no problems seen, arms, legs, and head are intact. Organs are inside and where they should be. Little one was moving and grooving. We saw the hand open and close, which the ultrasound lady said showed good muscle tone...ahhh, music to this OT brain.

I saw the midwife today and was impressed. She was cheerful and crack some jokes with Tom and me. She seemed excited and truly passionate about women and babies. By far this is the best visit I've had with this practice.

This is baby looking straight at you, kind of looks like a terminator!

This is a thumbs up saying everything is cool in here.

Little one hid the feet most of the time but this was a quick glance, you can almost make out the toes. The foot is pointing left.

I must admit there was a moment when ultrasound lady asked if we wanted to know the gender and I almost said yes. I know it's easier for nursery decorations and clothing choices but I like the idea of falling in love with this child without knowing the gender yet.
